Nasdaq: Dark pools and exchanges should be regulated the same way

Companies that run dark pools, sometimes called alternative trading systems, should be brought under the same kind of supervision as securities exchanges, said John Zecca, senior vice president and head of U.S. market regulation for Nasdaq OMX Group. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority doesn't receive the same information from dark pools as it does from exchanges, a situation that should be changed, he said.
