Network seeks to build students' soft skills

A network of 56 schools in 12 states is helping students with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities to develop the types of soft skills some say prevent such students from maintaining long-term employment. The network -- Specialized Education Services -- connects schools with small businesses, where students work to gain hands-on experience. Business owners say the behavioral difficulties students exhibit in school typically do not show up in these supportive work environments.
