NYC mayoral candidate proposes strict children's meal standards

New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn said this week that she plans to impose strict standards on children's meals at chain restaurants if she's successful in her bid to become mayor. Quinn said her proposed standards would be modeled after federal school-lunch standards, which call for no more than 650 calories, 7.2 grams of saturated fat and 740 milligrams of salt per meal.
