NYC mayoral candidate proposes strict kids' meal standards

New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn said this week that she plans to impose strict standards on children's meals at chain restaurants if she's successful in her bid to win the mayor's office next year. Quinn said her proposed standards would be modeled after federal school lunch standards, which call for no more than 650 calories, 7.2 grams of saturated fat and 740 milligrams of salt per meal.
