Pa. district nearly doubles participation in its summer-meal program

With at least half of students at two elementary schools in Middletown, Pa., qualifying for free or reduced-priced meals, officials said they saw a need to feed those students during the summer. Participation in the summer-meal program has nearly doubled so far this year. "I think it's making a big impact on the kids who are taking advantage of it," said Cindy Hendershott, who oversees the program.
