University of Texas receives $3.4M for aging research

The National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Aging announced Tuesday that it will award $3.4 million in grant funding over the next five years to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to study and research aging. The center plans to research, among other topics, Alzheimer's disease and the drug rapamycin, which has been found to lengthen the life span among mice.
