Companies sign LNG project in Alaska worth up to $65B

Pipeline companies and oil producers including BP, Exxon Mobil and ConocoPhillips have entered a deal to advance a liquefied natural gas project in Alaska to a permitting phase, after environmental and pipeline engineering fieldwork have already started, said Gov. Sean Parnell. The project valued at $40 billion to $65 billion will include a pipeline from the North Slope and a liquefaction facility and will start to secure an export license in the following weeks, he said.
