Duke oncology researcher joins Flatiron Health as CMO

Amy Abernethy will take a leave of absence from her position at Duke University's Cancer Care Research Program to serve as chief medical officer and senior vice president of oncology at Flatiron Health. Abernethy has been a champion of using clinical informatics and working with patients to develop personalized cancer treatments. Flatiron's OncologyCloud is meant to help cancer centers and doctors aggregate clinical, practice-management and billing information, and is developing a tool for life science companies to match patients to available clinical trials and automate data collection.
