In U.S., choosing between smartphone and deodorant is no easy task

Roughly half of American consumers say they couldn't go a day without their smartphone, and most would be willing to give up other life pleasures -- including chocolate and beer -- to stay perpetually connected. That's the word from Bank of America, which recently surveyed Americans about their attitudes toward their smartphones and found that only two things -- the Internet and personal hygiene -- rank higher in importance.
