Wyke Farms opens water recovery plant in sustainability push

Wyke Farms opened its $2.2 million water recovery plant and plans to launch the next phase of its anaerobic digestion project later this year, as part of the cheesemaker's $17 million "100% Green" mission for sustainability. The U.K. company, which sells more than 14,000 tons of cheese annually, will save up to 850,000 liters of water per day with the new plant and has already cut greenhouse gas emissions with solar panels, electric delivery vehicles and reduced package waste.
