Jacobsen mower to improve park maintenance at N.Y. city

A Jacobsen R-311 mower will be purchased by the city of Rome, N.Y., after a compromise reached between Rome Mayor Joseph Fusco and the Common Council. The machine will cost $50,201. "We’ve got over 100 acres of grass to mow, and probably 70 percent of that can be mowed with this one machine. It’s one guy doing the work of two and a half -- it’s just a much more efficient operation," Fusco said.
