Survey: 70% of plastic surgeons use fat grafting techniques

Autologous fat grafting has re-emerged as a popular option for breast reconstruction following cancer treatment, according to a survey of American Society of Plastic Surgeons members by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh. According to the findings in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 70% of surgeons said they used fat grafting techniques, and 62% said they used it for reconstructive applications while 28% used it for aesthetic purposes.
