Washington's Fourth of July traffic offers test of evacuation

The mad rush of thousands of people leaving Washington's Mall after the Fourth of July fireworks show represented the city's largest evacuation drill since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Officials worked on a goal to clear the area within 45 minutes, but the effort took a while longer and officials said some traffic bottlenecks on bridges to Virginia slowed things down.
