FDA warns of risks to newborns given Rocephin with calcium

The FDA issued a warning to physicians that Roche Holding's Rocephin injected antibiotic poses risks to newborn babies if it is combined with calcium. The agency noted reports of fatal reactions in newborns treated for treat lower respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea and other infections.
