FDG-PET beneficial to pediatric patients with refractory epilepsy

A study on children with refractory epilepsy found that concurring PET and MRI findings predict a child's chance of being seizure-free post-surgery better than nonconcurrent findings. In cases in which the results do not concur, the study also found that FDG-PET is better than MRI at pinpointing the patients with a higher likelihood of being seizure-free after surgery.
