Focus on sustainable energy boosts photovoltaic sector, encapsulants

The surging demand for solar energy is driving an equally resilient surge in the need for protective encapsulants for photovoltaic technologies. The PV market is expected to grow annually by 25%, while the solar encapsulant market is worth $2 billion a year, said Gaurav Vyas, a research analyst at consultants Frost & Sullivan. "For the last two years, a lot of installations have been delayed because of lack of funds, but now with economies looking stronger, the market is picking up," Vyas added.
