Apple peels lower fat, blood glucose in mice, study finds

The ursolic acid in apple peels helped improve muscle strength, reduce fat and lower blood glucose, plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels in tested mice, according to a study in Cell Metabolism. The findings suggest that the compound may help address muscle disorders and metabolic diseases such as diabetes in humans, experts said.
