L.A. media will use phone data to report on traffic snarls

Reporters at KABC in Los Angeles will use a smartphone location application to keep drivers informed later this month when a 10-mile section of Interstate 405 will be closed for two days. The station will rely on data from 180,000 local users of an application called Waze to produce real-time reporting on traffic conditions.
