Nonprofit helps former gang members remove tattoos

Detroit-area dermatologists donate their time to Freedom Ink, a tattoo-removal program organized by dermatologist Eric Seiger and the nonprofit Detroit Hispanic Development Corp. Former gang members and prisoners rebuilding their lives often regret tattoos and want them removed safely. The procedure is painful, but former gang member David Jimenez says it is worth it. "Every time I wash my hands, I feel great," said Jimenez, who had tattoos removed from his hands.
