Sedentary lifestyle ups pulmonary embolism risk, nurse study finds

Data on 69,950 female nurses who were followed for 18 years found that those who sat for more than 41 hours weekly outside of work had more than the twice the risk of developing pulmonary embolisms compared with those who spent less than 10 hours a week sitting down. The study was published in the British Medical Journal.
