A difficult job market might mean you have to accept a job for less money than you previously earned, but that shouldn't stop you from accepting employment. You can ask for other benefits such as flextime, writes Kim Thompson, who also advises you to consider the growth opportunities to be worth the drop in pay. Still, "if you lack real interest in the job, you may be setting yourself up for another job search, regardless of the job's salary," she writes.
