More U.S. public schools opt not to serve sugary drinks

Researchers surveyed public elementary schools nationwide and found that those that serve soda or other sugar-sweetened beverages not recommended by the Institute of Medicine declined from 47% in 2008 to 33% in 2011. The findings appear in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
