Analyst: Competition spurs Oracle to slash BI product prices

Oracle has reduced the per-license price of its Business Intelligence Foundation Suite by about 30%, to $300,000, and industry watchers say the drop is due to increasing market competition. The cost could actually be even lower given traditional discounts and price negotiations between vendors and customers. "As far as I am concerned there's huge competition in the BI market, from both traditional vendors and tons of newcomers," said Boris Evelson of Forrester Research.
