Can recruiters hamper a job search?

Using a recruiter may impede, rather than help, a job search, notes Sarah Butcher, editor of eFinancial Careers. Recruiters may only submit resumes for candidates that exactly match a job and could mismanage a job search or change a resume without telling the job seeker, Butcher writes. Recruiters may also blacklist candidates who send resumes in for too many jobs, she warns.
