CMS report agrees: Preferred networks offer substantial savings

A CMS report that found negotiated prices for the top 25 brand-name drugs and the top 25 generics at Part D preferred pharmacies were lower than at non-network pharmacies confirms the value of the networks, said PCMA President and CEO Mark Merritt. Part D plans with preferred network pharmacies are popular among seniors, according to a recent survey that found that 85% of seniors in Part D plans with pharmacy networks are satisfied with their drug coverage.
