Legislators ask HHS to respond to white paper on HIT adoption

Sen. John Thune, R-N.D., wrote on his website that the group of Republican senators who wrote a white paper in April highlighting their concerns about the implementation of the HITECH ACT are still awaiting a formal response from HHS. Thune also stated on the site that several stakeholders have already responded to their white paper and agreed with the argument raised by the legislators -- that the interoperability standards under the EHR incentive program impede data-sharing initiatives.
