For half a century, policymakers around the world have been trying to replicate Silicon Valley's success -- but all their attempts have failed, writes Vivek Wadhwa. That's because Silicon Valley's success springs from the bright, talented people it's drawn together, and the ecosystem it's created to nurture and retain them. If other cities overtake Silicon Valley in the future, Wadhwa writes, "[i]t will be because we exported the magic ingredient: smart people."
