Produce industry sees RFID benefits, problems

A Webcast by a produce marketing group attended by 147 companies found 40% were pursuing RFID technology to enhance traceability and origin labeling, among other benefits. The group's research found coldness and wetness associated with produce shipping may make it difficult to capture data using RFID scanners.
