Design for new Nets arena could change Brooklyn skyline

A new design for the Nets arena near downtown Brooklyn includes towering skyscrapers designed by architect Frank Gehry and an increased amount of housing, up to about 6,000 units from the original 4,500 announced in 2003. The project, which would be the largest outside Manhattan in years, would include 17 buildings, many as high as 50 or 60 stories, making up a dense urban skyline resembling that of a city like Houston.
