Airlines, unions and regulators will meet in 10 regional workshops this summer in an effort to meet a Sept. 1 FAA deadline for rewriting safety rules. Pilot rest and access to training records will be among the key areas for discussion, along with mentoring relationships between major airlines and regional carriers. "The airline industry has gotten it. The people who fly their planes have gotten it," Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood told the Denver Post. All the parties involved "know what needs to be done, so they need to get with it," he said.
