HIMSS paper underscores importance of usability in EHR adoption

The usability of electronic health records could contribute to the development of more user-friendly EHR products and might be the most important challenge in the adoption of EHRs, according to a study released by the EHR Usability Task Force of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. "The task force will continue to study this important topic of usability and its benefits for successful EMR implementation," an HIMSS official said.
