How video interviews can help

Using a webcam to tape a "live video interview" with a job candidate can serve as a valuable learning tool and a potential safety net, writes San Francisco State University management professor John Sullivan. The process can expose weaknesses in the interview process, help keep promising candidates on file and allow more managers to have input on the hire, he writes. But recording interviews can have drawbacks too, he notes, including the difficulty of providing candidates with cameras and a range of privacy issues.
