Scientists improve sensitivity of electron energy loss spectroscopy

07/6/2009 | Chemical & Engineering News

Japanese researchers say they have advanced the analytical-resolving power of the chemical spectroscopy method called electron energy loss spectroscopy to the single-atom limit. The advance should allow scientists to detect the locations of lone atoms such as impurities in solids and chemically identify them.
