A report from the World Economic Forum highlights the role of industrial biorefineries in reducing carbon emissions while providing the U.S. with a competitive advantage in energy generation and manufacturing. America is a disadvantage when it relies heavily on oil, Novozymes CEO Steen Riisgaard says in the report. "But in a bio-based society, America has a huge resource advantage. The U.S. has the world's largest reserves of biomass available and more than 70 percent of the planned second-generation biorefineries."
