Children with disabilities build skills through bike program

Students with special needs in Washington state took part in a traveling bike camp that features a modified version of two-wheel bicycle training for children with disabilities. The program -- Lose the Training Wheels -- is offered nationwide and was started by a mechanical engineer who spent 20 years researching and designing specialized bicycles for children with special needs. "This modified bike allows them to build skills in a safe atmosphere," said an adaptive physical-education teacher who works with the program.
