Groups respond to FDA's draft guidance on animal antibiotics

The Food and Drug Administration's draft guidance that seeks to limit antibiotic use in livestock animals elicited mixed reactions from the industry. AVMA CEO Ron DeHaven said his organization "is pleased that the FDA is committed to working with the veterinary profession to address antimicrobial resistance concerns," while the National Pork Producers Council's president said the guidance "could eliminate certain antibiotics that are extremely important to the health of animals."
