Study examines revised calculation for premeal insulin dose

Children with Type 1 diabetes who calculate their premeal insulin dose using carbohydrates, fat and protein instead of just carb intake can reduce the incidence of postprandial hyperglycemia after meals heavy in fats and proteins, a German study said. Children in the study also learned the new calculation easily, the lead researcher said.
