Mimio systems offer interactive whiteboards and many other tools that teachers in an Illinois district say capture students' attention and students say are helping them learn in a "whole new way." The systems are shared in most schools, but officials plan to install them in each classroom. "During lessons, the students are engaged and look forward to interacting with the system, whether manipulating objects or writing a sentence. It's amazing to see the positive impact the use of technology can have on student learning. I couldn't go a day without it," one third-grade teacher said.
