USDA sets olive oil standards

Starting this fall, olive oil labeled as "100% extra virgin" will be expected to meet standards established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The new rules are voluntary and intended to ensure that products labeled as olive oil are the real thing and not a mix of oils.
