Va. middle school introduces pre-Advanced Placement program

A Virginia middle school is planning to offer a pre-Advanced Placement program this fall intended to introduce students to college-style learning earlier and help better prepare students for high school and college. The program does not include new class offerings, but teachers will alter their teaching styles slightly to include more hands-on activities and less emphasis on lectures.
