Columbia study provides detailed broadband status update

A Columbia University think tank has issued a comprehensive report card on the state of broadband services in the U.S., which could provide service providers with a detailed overview of the market. Among the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information's findings: At least 50 million homes would receive broadband service with download speeds of 10 megabits per second or more if Verizon Communications and AT&T meet their projected deployment targets over the next two years.
