Health advocates push FDA for stricter menu-labeling rules

Health-focused groups including the American Heart Association and the Center for Science in the Public Interest pushed this week to make the Food and Drug Administration's proposed menu-labeling rules stricter. Three changes included extending the definition of "restaurants" to include all venues that serve food, including alcoholic beverages in the rules, and requiring vending machine operators to post the information next to each product.
