Hendra virus prompts quarantine of 4 more properties in Australia

A horse that died Monday near Brisbane, Australia, after contracting Hendra virus has prompted biosecurity officials to quarantine four additional properties in the area. Six horses across the country have died so far since June 20, eight properties have been quarantined and 42 horses are being monitored for potential exposure to the virus.
