Hotel graduates have high expectations for earning, advancement

With more than 900 institutions offering degrees in hospitality and tourism management, the hotel industry has a large pool of qualified potential employees. However, hotels are having trouble hiring and retaining these qualified workers. High expectations earlier in their careers may be to blame, and many high-performing graduates of hotel schools are taking jobs outside of the operations industry, according to reports from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
