No more last-minute debit card surcharges, UK says

Following a consumer law investigation by the U.K.'s Office of Fair Trading, 12 airlines have agreed to include debit card surcharges in ticket prices, rather than tacking them on at the end of the transaction process. "It is important that the cost presented when they search for a flight is realistic and that they are not surprised by extra charges," said Office of Fair Trading CEO Clive Maxwell of travelers. Airlines who are part of the agreement include Ryanair, easyJet, Lufthansa and Aer Lingus.
