Fla. school board will use volunteers to boost security

The Lake County, Fla., School Board plans to establish citizen patrols made up of volunteers to watch for and report anything suspicious on campus to the principal or law enforcement. The volunteers, who will begin patrolling elementary schools next month, have no authority to discipline or detain students.
