Mass. district weighs consequences for unpaid meal accounts

Officials in a Massachusetts district are considering delaying the release of report cards and restricting graduation for students who have outstanding balances on their lunch accounts. Under the proposal, accounts would be flagged once $10 is owed to the district, and then -- after officials have made attempts to recover the funds -- they could choose to take families to small claims court.
