Privacy group files complaint over Facebook study

The Electronic Privacy Information Center has filed a complaint with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission over Facebook's experiment two years ago on user emotions. The privacy watchdog group alleges that Facebook's data policy at the time did not say anything about research and consumers were not informed about the information shared. "When someone signs up for Facebook, we've always asked permission to use their information to provide and enhance the services we offer," a Facebook spokesperson said.
