Global warming wakes up insurance industry

The severity of wildfires in the western U.S. during the last two decades may have been fueled by global warming, scientists report in the journal Science, and "it's going to get worse," one forestry professor said. Meanwhile, after years of silence, the U.S. insurance industry is waking up to climate change. The American International Group in mid-May became the first U.S. insurer to adopt a policy explicitly addressing climate change.
