BCC says BoE should extend asset-purchase programme

The British Chambers of Commerce is advocating an expansion of the Bank of England's asset-purchase programme as the economic downturn continues. "The worst of the recession is over, but the recovery is not guaranteed," said David Kern, chief economic adviser to the BCC. "Policy is not yet effective, and that has to change. They should go beyond £150 billion."
